I designed and painted the set and puppets for this world première of a puppet show that Lewis Carroll wrote and performed for his family.
I tried to recreate what it might have been like when Lewis Carroll put on this play for his family. I wanted the set to look like a homemade Victorian puppet show, and I tried to imagine what the Carroll family might have had in their attic and repurposed for the show. The puppeteers were dressed like servants from the Carroll household. The production is designed to pack up and tour easily and has performed in a number of intimate venues. Audience members were allowed to walk through the set.
